Japan's nuclear radiaton found in food

The earthquake was occurred in Japan; although earthquake is a common thing in Japan since it is located in the middle pace where connect Pacific Plate and Eurasia Plate. There are many activities. More than 6000 people were dead from this disaster. This is the most serious earthquake since two earthquakes taken place before.
The nuclear leakage resulted from earthquake make disaster get worse and worse. Some workers sign the contract that shows the people may not come back in their life; they may sacrifice their life in the process of restoring nuclear in order to halt radiation. The news of food contamination came as emergency workers scrambled to curb a nuclear crisis sparked by last week’s monster earthquake and tsunami.
So far, the radiation was spread into the plant. The spinach and milk were affected by contamination, but the contamination in the food has no harmful influence can lead people to death if people do not take into body. The director of nuclear system warns that though radioactive iodine has s short half-life of about eight days and decays naturally within a matter of weeks, there is a short-term risk to human health if radioactive iodine in food is absorbed into the human body.
At the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant that is responsible for the contamination, emergency crews connected electric cables needed to power up cooling systems in the six stricken reactors rendered inoperable after the tsunami.
The situation in Japan has been stabilized, though there is still much contamination. The workers in the Fukushima suffer from the radiation for a long time. People are naturally exposed to about 3 millisieverts of radiation a year, no more than 50 millisieverts exposure in a given year for nuclear rescue and recovery workers. It offers no restriction in a crisis when “ the benefit to others clearly outweighs the rescuer’s risk.”

iPad 2 Mania Leads To Shortages

Since ipad 1 gain the popularity from all the world, the ipad 2 has attracted many attention. Weekend sales of Apple Inc.'s newly released iPad 2 soared beyond industry expectations, so much so that the device left most store shelves before the weekend actually ended. So far, the number of sales has reached the estimated level.
When the original iPad debuted 11 months ago, Apple said it sold more than 300,000 on the first day. Sales reached 1 million after 28 days. By some estimates, iPad 2 sales may already be approaching that mark. Analysts put the weekend's volumes at between 500,000 and 1 million.
People like ipad for it is like a laptop, but it is light than laptop. It is like a smart phone, but it is bigger than laptop. Some people use it to send email and surf on the Internet. It is very convenient to carry. We can download music and contact to other people.  We can watch film on the screen and search information.
Ipad 2 mania leads to shortages that are not a surprise. People like it for different reasons. We are looking for ipad 2 can give us more functions.

The notebook---One of my favorite movies

I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who's ever lived: I've loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough. This is the beginning that Noah’s words. Yes, he is an ordinary boy. He does not have rich family and high social status. He and his father live in an old house. Noah is just a worker in the factory. He always wears poor cloth. Allie is from rich background. She is a beautiful girl in amazing dress. They form bright contrast. He goes crazy about Allie.

However, their love must be not allowed by Allie’s parents. We can know their social status from their cloth. Noah’s poor clothes is not disgusting but represent his industrious. It can pave the way that Noah makes the new house for Allie, although they do not stay together any more. He has good manner when Allie’s parents think he is not good enough to Allie, Noah chose leave Allie. His word that is given at the beginning show us his ordinary but he sticks to his love till the last moment.

At the end of this film, Allie asks Noah whether their love can make a miracle. Noah promises her that their love can do anything they want to at the last minute. This conversation presents their love can bond them together and show us they love each other deeply.

Allie’s behavior is like Allie’ mother does when she was young girl. The same situation also occurs on her daughter. Her mother thinks that is a good way to Allie. She is a tough woman, she thinks that money and status is everything to people. But she supports their love in the end. She thinks people need love to live. From her mother character, we can see the typical rich family. They like people who have same high social status to them. She tells her daughter Noah is a trash to her. From her words, we can feel that she love wealth than any other things. That is a important reason why she does not agree to Allie and Noah’s love.

I am a volunteer in the UNA film festival--good experience

The scent- we need love
I was the volunteer on that day, so I cannot see” The ah of life”.  But I heard of this is a wonderful film and many professors in communication were going to the theater to watch it. But I saw a short movie is called scent, I would like to describe this movie, the wife of the old man has dead, but the old man does not let her leave; and put her in the bedroom.  When the remain keep longer, the scent has given out, but the old man still keep his wife. When somebody call him and ask something about his wife, the old man cannot say nothing but crying. The old man hug his wife everyday, he loves her very much. Put the two cups of coffee everyday, as if his wife is still alive. He cannot accept the reality that his wife has left.

This is a good film, although it is shorter than other films. There is no more dialogue, but the action can express the feeling. We can see the love that the old man gives his wife. In the world, love is an important stream.  People cannot live without love.  No matter what kind of love, people need that to live. The love can be formed between you and your friends, your parents, your relatives, and your lover. Those people have the relationship with you. When you get in troubles, they will give you a hand and help you out of dilemma.  Also, we need social relationship; we can find love that is our friendship. We can find love in our family; we called it as family love. We still find a lover in the world and that person can stay with us until the last minute in our life. It is not easy to find the person, we must have common interests and we should take care of each other. So we can keep the long relationship forever.

I am very happy to be a volunteer in this event. I have a lot of fun. My job in it is to give out the booklist and ask the people to mark their favorite movie. It is not a hard and technical work, but I am happy to participate.  I am looking forward to having more chances in order to get more experiences. It broadens my horizon and helps me get better understanding about the film, although my major is not film making. I am interested in it.

just to win

I like Nike brand because I like its spirit-just do it. Air Jordan is one of Nike’s most successful lines of sneaker, this ad campaign from the 1990s brought legendary basketball player Michael Jordan together.

From the picture, the greatest player Jordan prepares to put the ball into the basket, he seems to be a person who is full of energy. That energy is on the ball. He jump higher with Nike’s shoe and almost reaches the basket without any difficulties. It told us the Nike’s shoe gives him power to do it. His firm eyes tell us he must win this game. The word besides the image is” will to win”. The image and the word represent the same meaning. That represent wearing the shoe you will overcome anything and do not fear anything if you have confidence to do it. Other word is that” You will notice, you will scream, because you want it happen”. When you win a game, you also win the scream and notice from the public. You can enjoy your success freely. The basketball field is yours and you can play yourself. Jordan is in the basketball field and he is ready to win the game.

He wears the red cloth and black shoe. Red means passion and interest to the sport. Black shoe gives him power to win the game and no one can beat him. He stretches his arm and holds the ball. We can see the muscle apparently. It means the power. Selecting those colors and shapes in order to give us the visual enjoyment and let us feel power of the brand and the power of the shoe. What we know from that we can trust this brand and we will be encourage to wear it.

The uprising in Libya

The 2011 Libyan protests began as a series of protests and confrontations occurring in the North African state of Libya against the Government of Libya and its de facto leader Muammar al-Gaddafi. The unrest began on 15 February 2011 and continues to the present. Media outlets have reported the unrest as being inspired by the uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia, connecting the protests with the wider 2010–2011 Middle East and North Africa protests. According to Richard Engel, NBC News Chief Foreign Correspondent, who entered Libya and had reached the city of Turku on 22 February 2011, "the protest movement is no longer a protest movement, it's a war. It's open revolt." On 22 February, The Economist described the events as an "uprising that is trying to reclaim Libya from the world's longest-ruling autocrat."
Protests have centered on Libya’s two largest cities, the capital of Tripoli in the west, and Benghazi in the east and tend to spread to other cities. On 18 February, demonstrators took control over most of Benghazi, the country's second-largest city, with some support from police and defecting military units. The government reacted by sending elite troops and mercenaries, which were resisted by Benghazi's inhabitants and insurrectionary members of the military. By 20 February, more than 200 people had been killed in Benghazi.[5] Protests in Tripoli have centered around Green Square. On 21 February, Libyan Air Force aircraft attacked civilian protesters in Tripoli, drawing international condemnation. The New York Times reported that "the crackdown in Libya has proven the bloodiest of the recent government actions."
Several Libyan officials have stepped down over the course of the protests while others have distanced themselves from Gaddafi and his government, declaring his current regime as illegitimate and accusing him of genocide and crimes against humanity in his attacks against the people of Libya.
As of 23 February 2011, most towns and cities in Libya are reported to be under the control of the Libyan opposition and not the government of Muammar al-Gaddafi.

Muammar al-Gaddafi has ruled Libya as the Brotherly Leader and Guide of the Revolution since overthrowing the monarchy in 1969. Following the retirement of Fidel Castro in 2008 and the death of Omar Bongo in 2009, Gaddafi is the world's longest ruling non-royal head of state. Traditionally, Libya is divided by clans, whom a strong leader like Gaddafi seeks to pacify. WikiLeaks' disclosure of confidential U.S. diplomatic cables has revealed U.S. diplomats there even speaking of Gaddafi's "mastery of tactical maneuvering". While placing relatives and loyal members of his tribes in central military and government positions, he skillfully marginalized supporters and rivals, thus maintaining a delicate balance of powers, stability and economic developments. This chess game extends even to his own power-hungry children, as he changes affections to avoid the rise of a clear successor and rival.
Petroleum revenues contribute up to 58% of Libya's GDP, leading to a resource curse. Governments with "resource curse" revenue have a lower need for taxes from other industries and consequently are less willing to develop their middle class. To calm down opposition, such governments can use the income from natural resources to offer services to the population, or to specific regime supporters. The government of Libya can utilize these techniques by using the national oil resources.
In "How Qaddafi Lost Libya", The New Yorker's Andrew Solomon reported that Saif al-Islam Gaddafi was an "absolute failure" in achieving reforms. Libya's oil wealth was spread over a relatively small population of six million, Solomon explained, and Gaddafi did not fulfill "even the most basic government obligations" or address unemployment. Libya’s unemployment is the highest in the region at 21%, according to the latest census figures.
However, Gaddafi's government has also had more economic progress than other Arab countries. Libya's purchasing power parity (PPP) GDP per capita in 2010 was US$14,878; its human development index in 2010 was 0.755; and its literacy rate in 2009 was 86.8%. These numbers were lower in Egypt and Tunisia. Indeed, Libyan citizens are considered well-educated and rich. Its corruption perception index in 2010 was 2.2, which was worse than that of Egypt and Tunisia, two neighboring countries who faced uprising before Libya. This specific situation creates a wider contrast between good education, high demand for democracy, and the government's practices (perceived corruption, political system, supply of democracy.
